Riverside

The Riverside project is a single-family home that underwent a complete renovation and an addition to accommodate single level living space. It was tastefully updated with modern touches while keeping some of the original aesthetics of the house, including an original window being added in the hallway wall of the sitting room to highlight the style and bring natural light into the rooms. Original steam heat radiators were incorporated into the update as well as the glass surrounding the newly refreshed front door, making it an attractive entry point. The kitchen and main entry were completely redesigned, creating and openness and new flow for the home.

The Lift House

The Lift House is an award-winning private family residence that is situated on a narrow mountainside property adjacent to a ski trail. Corten steel panels anchor the house and conceals the garage and entrance to minimize visual interruptions. The cantilevered structure creates a considerable opening and covered deck where eastern views can be taken in though the walls of glass. A custom-designed dining table follows the chevron footprint and allows for après entertainment. Tom led this project while at Colby & Tobiason.

The Woodshed

This house was designed to be a guest and entertainment space. It is named for, and designed after, the woodshed, a common element to the Vermont landscape.  One side is purposely minimal with continuous wood wall made of repurposed coral fencing while the other side opens to the steep and wooded hillside with a glass façade. Tom led the build on this project, that boasts 17 awards and publications, when he worked with Colby& Tobiason Builders.
